After announcing early January their decision of stepping back from royal duties and becoming financially independent, Harry and Meghan woes seems not to be ending anytime soon.
This is after President Trump twitted on Sunday and said that the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex must pay for their own security because United state would not do that amid of the reports that the two had relocated to Meghan’s home state of California.
“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!” President Trump’s tweet read.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are officially expected to step down as senior royals on 31 March and will no longer carry out duties on behalf of the Queen and it had been reported that the two with their son Archie would reside permanently in Canada.
Mr. Trump’s tweet steered a lot of emotions With Harry and Meghan receiving online backlash from Americans demanding that they should pay for their own security.
However, according the Sussex spokesperson, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the US government for security resources because their privately funded security arrangements have already been made.
