Heart Attack

What is the likelihood that you will go to sleep today and not wake up tomorrow? That is a question that everyone should ask themselves very often. The possibility of dying in your sleep because of a heart attack is high considering how you live your life. Are you a smoker? Do you hate to exercise? Are you living a highly stressed life always on the run? Do you have obesity or high blood pressure or diabetes? Well, if you answered yes to any one of those questions, then you are a possible candidate of a heart attack.
So what exactly is a heart attack? A heart attack occurs when blood flow is blocked in the heart because of a clot in the arteries. When this happens, a person may feel lightheaded. They may also feel nauseated, get chest pains or have shortness of breath. Having pressure in the chest and feeling fatigued are also symptoms that you are having a heart attack. Some people may have constant chest pains before they finally get a heart attack. Others are caught by surprise because it happens suddenly.
To be on the safe side, try as much as possible to do some exercise. It does not matter whether it’s walking or hitting the gym. Exercise reduces your cholesterol levels and also plays a part in relieving your stress. Stay away from smoking and if you have any disease that may contribute to having a heart attack, make sure you see a doctor to manage those conditions. Live a life that is stress free and you will avoid falling sick.
If someone you know has a heart attack, take them to hospital immediately. If they are not breathing, try to resuscitate them using CPR to keep their blood flowing in the body. Immediate help can save lives.
