You can boost your immunity naturally through everyday diet and lifestyle habits in reducing the risk of coronovirus that is a worldwide pandemic. These are a few tips on how to boost your immunity against Corona Virus.

First of all you have to ensure that your nutrition is adequate by eating fruit and vegetables each day and focus on a of range of plant foods which are excellent sources of carotenoids that help support a healthy immune system.

You may also add orange to salads hence making a fresh mango smoothie, snack on carrots and eat roast pumpkin alongside a good protein source for dinner.

Vitamin D is essential to a healthy functioning immune system therefore ensure you get enough sunshine everyday. This strengthens the immune system.

It is advisable to also get enough sleep. Seven to eight hours is recommended for adults as it supports appropriate immune response. people are advised to limit the blue light from electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and tablets before bed.

This is because the blue light has been linked to reduction in melatonin, which is the hormone that aids sleep onset. However, if you must use the device, then set the light to night mode to increase the yellow light.

Cooking ingredients that may help boost your immune system include mushrooms, ginger, garlic, chilli and onion. We are also advised to eat anti-inflammatory foods which are known to their essential in healing the gut and improving overall immunity. Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids such as oily fish like salmon, sardines and tuna are also recommended.

28-minute exercise per day is recommended. This is because exercise places stress onto your lungs in the same way COVID-19 does, therefore if your body encounters the illness it will be in a better position to stave it off if you are physically fit.

Exercises such as air squats, push ups, knee ups, towel rows, alternating reverse lungs and butterfly sit ups are encouraged and good thing is that they can be done even at at home.

Ensure that you eat foods rich in fibre. Fibre helpd in smooth digestion. This includes sweet potatoes, carrots and root vegetables, green leafy vegetables, berries, nuts and seeds. Aso eat enough zinc and vitamin C foods. This is because vitamin C is a powerful flu-fighting antioxidant which can help to keep colds and flues at bay by enhancing your immune system functioning. Vitamin C ingredients such as  mango, blueberries and citrus fruits, broccoli, parsley, cabbage, capsicum and dark leafy greens are recommended.

Whereas zinc is also important in the development and functioning of the body’s infection fighting white blood cells. Zinc is found more in lean red meat, chicken, eggs, seafood, especially oysters and shellfish and in smaller quantities in whole grains, nuts and seeds such as pumpkin seeds and fortified breakfast cereals.
