Isn’t it interesting that the moment covid-19 hit Kenya, we forgot all the other things that are causing havoc in our midst? It seems like we no longer have cancer cases in our country. In fact, rarely will you hear of anyone talking about the death toll of other diseases. We have forgotten the trouble caused by the recent floods which killed a higher number of people in a few days than covid-19 has.
So is it that there are no other diseases that need to be given attention or are we concentrating on the one that everyone is talking about? Shouldn’t we put measures in place so that we fight covid-19 without losing sight of the other challenges we have? That way we will not start from zero once covid-19 is no longer a threat.
