Former NBA player Kobe Bryant memorial was held yesterday as mourners gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to remember and celebrate the life of the NBA star, his daughter Giana Bryant and seven others who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash last month.
Among the attendance was NBA legend Michael Jordan who gave a heartfelt speech about former late LA star Kobe Bryant. Jordan acknowledged Kobe as the greatest NBA player of all time and his relationship with Kobe.
The NBA legend also disclosed that as known to many they were fierce rivals with Kobe on the court but in reality they were very close friends. With tears in his eyes, he refereed kobe as his dear friend and a little brother. Something that came like a surprise to many.
The late Kobe Bryant joined NBA in 1996 at the age of 17 and the two played against each other in the late 1990s and early 2000s before Jordan retired.
